About the Worship Stream

Certificate in Christian Ministry - Internship (Level 4)

The Worship Stream is the creative arts stream of Equippers College. Each student chooses a major focus (vocals, Guitar, Bass, Drums, Keys and Technical Production) and through specialty lessons, industry disciplines and spiritual discipleship they develop their musicianship and ministry skills. The Worship Stream is designed to equip creative people for leadership and ministry.

“Our dream has always been to train Christians in the creative arts to a standard that is world class, but with character that is heaven class! We believe that a Christian artist should be a Christian first and an artist second. We want to teach people that your greatest communication tool is your life, not your gift - and the key to excellence in both is God! Couple that with individual mentoring and the environment of a local Church that is strong in pastoral care and vision, the Worship Stream will be a year that will set you up for the rest of your life.”

— Pastor Wayne Huirua

Testimonies

Catherine Jones (International Student, 2023)

My time at Equippers College so far has been deeply transformative for me, in all areas of my life! Firstly, my relationship with Jesus has been strengthened, deepened and grown - I’m more in love with Jesus than I ever have been before!

Secondly, I’ve been discovering gifts and passions that God planted long ago and only now have I had the space and freedom to give them a go. I’ve been thoroughly supported by all of the pastors here in just going for it!

‘God has been healing my heart and setting me up for my future even in the day to day conversations with my peers, let alone the incredible lectures and practical worship sessions. I’m so grateful to Equippers College for investing in the whole of me. I’m excited and expectant for all that God is going to do in the coming years. LET’S GO!!

Samuel Woodfield (Auckland, 2023)

I decided to come to Equippers College in 2023, because I wanted to invest intentional time into receiving what God wanted to teach me, and lay foundations that I can take into my future. As a worship stream student, I expected that my most significant growth would be in a creative capacity, but I have been surprised by how well my personal relationship with God has also developed and been nurtured. Through the teaching and mentoring, I understand so much more about who God is and how close he truly is to me.

In the worship stream, there have been huge opportunities to develop my vocal ability as well as guitar skills. In addition to this, being put in spaces that grow my leadership in different areas, has been a real bonus.I feel supported and listened to by the staff and interns, and I know that they always intentional about my growth and success.
